You are allowed to hand in one of the assignments 3 days late (72 hours), at most. You can only use this exception once, so if you use it on this assignment, you will have to hand in Assignments 2 and 3 on time.

Dear Thomas, Sergey and Mr Niculae,

Today the deadline for assignment 1 is at 18:00. I wanted to ask if it's possible for me to submit the assignment before 23:59 instead of 18:00. Last week I was sick and couldn't attend any class of the subjects I have. I really hope that it's possible to have the extra time to finish the assignment.
