Dear Gijs and HotPoliticsLab colleagues, I wanted to share with you an invitation to our PLEDGE Project Stakeholder Event, which will take place in Brussels on 2-3 October 2024. PLEDGE https://www.pledgeproject.eu/ is a Horizon Europe-funded initiative focused on grievance politics and democratic governance. This event aims to bring together academics, policymakers, civil society representatives, journalists, and media professionals to explore how we can foster emotionally responsive communication and governance, strengthening democratic engagement across Europe. This will be particularly relevant for colleagues preparing grant applications or looking to build connections with stakeholders interested in the emotional dynamics of grievance politics. In addition to the main PLEDGE sessions, the event will feature brief presentations from other Horizon Europe-funded consortia working on emotions and the challenges facing democracy. The first day will introduce the themes of the project, focusing on the emotionality of grievance politics and the practical aspects of participatory democratic dialogue. On the second day, workshops will address specific issues, explore the design of new democratic institutions, and develop a roadmap for future collaborations. You can find more information, including the agenda and registration details [registration page for the conferencehttps://docs.google.com/forms/d/1DrjJtOx7ahi9Q3K9ELUuDiq2OXOMpzE5zu6Kl3QP9Ao/viewform?edit_requested=true], on the conference website [conference website with agendahttps://www.pledgeproject.eu/elementor-1828/]. The event will be held in a hybrid format, offering both on-site and online sessions. For those who prefer to attend remotely, we welcome online registrations. We would be delighted if you could join us and contribute to the conversation. Best regards, Tereza
