The department of Information and Computing Sciences of Utrecht University is looking for an enthusiastic candidate to work in the area of causal discovery. Possible projects include the investigation of algebraic constraints imposed by linear structural equation models, and the development of powerful and efficient causal discovery algorithms that can use such constraints to find the causal graph that best fits the data.
For more information and to apply, please see:

Application deadline: 29 August
Are you interested in applying ideas from the exciting new field of causal
representation learning (https://crl-uai-2022.github.io/) to multimodal
data, e.g., images, text, etc.? Are you excited about investigating
fundamental questions and developing a unified principled framework, but
also testing them empirically?
The Intelligent Data Engineering Lab at the University of Amsterdam (
www.uva.nl) is seeking a motivated PhD student in the area of causality,
causal representation learning and multimodal data fusion. You will be
working under the supervision of dr. Sara Magliacane (
https://twitter.com/saramagliacane) and prof. Paul Groth (
https://indelab.org/)
on a new fundamental research project, funded by the US Air Force Office of
Scientific Research, aimed at creating foundational theory and methods for
extracting and fusing causal knowledge from multiple modalities.
Deadline: September 15 2022
