Two seminars this week

Hi everyone, This week we again are going to have two talks in the COMSOC Seminar at the ILLC. On Wednesday at 11:00 Ujjwal Kumar, who is visiting from Kolkata for the week, will speak about a local forms of incentive compatibility. Please note that his talk originally was announced for Tuesday but we had to move it (and the website does not yet full reflect the change). On Thursday at 15:00 our very own Jan Maly will speak about proportionality in participatory budgeting. I hope to see you at one or both of these sessions! Best, Ulle

Two talks this week

Hello everyone, This week were are going to have two talks in the COMSOC Seminar at the ILLC. On Tuesday at 11:00 Federico Fioravanti, who is visiting from Bahía Blanca, will be talking about false-name-proofness in voting. On Thursday at 11:00, Manon Revel, who is visiting from MIT, will be talking about liquid democracy. Both seminars will be on the third floor oof Lab42. Hi everyone, The COMSOC Seminar at the ILLC is about to start up again. We have a number of exciting talks lined up for the weeks ahead, with more likely to be added soon. We will start this Thursday at 15:00 in room L3.35 (thus in the new building) with Sreedurga Gogulapati, who is visiting us from Bangalore for about three months. She will be speaking about a new model for participatory budgeting. Carlos Navarrete will visit from Toulouse and talk about his work on using social choice theory to better understand the opinions held by large groups of people regarding multiple policy proposals. I'm happy to be able to report that we are restarting the seminar, and we actually have a packed programme for the rest of May, as well as a couple of further sessions later on this summer. We'll start next Monday, the 16th, at 16:00 with a talk by Jan Maly on Proportionality in Approval-Based Participatory Budgeting.
